Photo Trip

Saturday, February 16, 2008

It's a three day weekend for me, and because my Saturday photography class was not in session today, I decided to use my abundance of free time to take a photo trip. I got in the car, and with no specific destination in mind, I drove until I found something that inspired me. I came across a "shanty town" in the middle of the farmlands off of I5.

All the doors were blocked off by other doors tipped on their side.

Is there anything more iconic in Bakersfield than smog, farmlands and a John Deere?

There was an old man in a truck watching me take pictures. I don't think he liked me poking around this property. If not for this sign and the old man, I'd have actually gone inside.

Your pictures are beautiful! I found your link off of my sister-in-law Lorie's blog.

That little blue house is amazing!!!!!!!!!! What a lucky find! Was it in Bakersfield?

Where do you take a photography class? I'm interested in taking one, but all the ones I've seen at BC are in the middle of the day during weekdays, and I work full-time and can't attend. I took a film class in college, gut those skills have long since been forgotten. Anyway, just interested to know where you are taking a Saturday class.
