Paso Robles

One week from now, I will have just finished shooting my first wedding. In Paso Robles at a beautiful winery for a woman I admire, no less. I've never been to said winery, so I am making a trip tomorrow to scope things out. And I am bringing my assistant with me. Although calling her my assistant seriously undermines her talents and experience. I have no business calling her my "assistant," but I begged politely asked once, and she took the job. She's pretty much the coolest chick in my book at the moment. I'm so anxious for this trip and for the next week. I have a feeling this is going to be the start (albeit a meager one) of something great. and I'm starting to get excited about it.

As adults, I think most of us lose our child like sense of wonder. We learn to "play it cool," and as a result, I think we relinquish a great deal of control over our own happiness. I noticed today just how much I miss being amazed, overwhelmed and inspired by the simple things. There are a few things that really make my eyes wide with excitement. Disneyland, Star Wars, ballet and photography. This sense of excitement is especially heightened when I am acquiring new knowledge about the aforementioned subjects. In my photography class this morning, we got to play with studio lights and I became giddy like a school girl (minus the slutty Britney style skirt). There was no concern for how ridiculous I may appear to others, or anything else actually. For a few hours today, I didn't think about anything else going on in my life. It was as if all of my worries took a vacation day and came back happier and refreshed. I wish I could regain my child like sense of wonder more often. If today was any indication, I would certainly be a happier person.

I'll post pictures of the location after my trip tomorrow, and hopefully, I can keep looking at life with a pair of wide, amazed eyes.

I to think that we as adults be-little the child like sensations that utter excitement of a wedding, or a a slice of pizza can bring. Why do all kids love pizza??
